Keeping Myself Safe

CfE Experiences and Outcomes

Respect personal space and boundaries. HWB 1-45a.

1. Connecting the Learning - Look at picture of Hannah and Harris surrounded by their friends. Discuss why it is good to have friends and how it makes you feel.

2. Sharing the Learning Outcomes -

• Talk about the qualities of a good friend.
• Tell what to do if a friend is doing something you don’t like.

3. Active Learning -

• Role play – split into groups of four and each groups gets a scenario card. Children then act out scenarios and decide on the ending in groups.
• Show each groups work to class and discuss if each ending was the right thing to do.

4. Demonstrating Understanding - Sorting activity on smartboard - which of these characteristics are good for a friend to have? Have words like trustworthy, lazy, irresponsible, good listener etc.

5. Review and Recall – Make a wanted poster for a good friend, describing 3-4 characteristics desired and finally the reward being ‘You get to be my friend’.
